Tuesday Treasure: Tassel Subscription Club
Today’s Tuesday Treasure is a new feature in my Etsy shop, tassel subscription clubs. You can buy a 3 month, 6 month, or 12 month subscription, and receive a tassel a month for the duration of your subscription. You choose whether you receive keychain tassels or ornament tassels. There are two colors for each month, and I will choose each month how to combine those colors and choose complementary beads.

Tuesday Treasure: Hope Collage
I am listing my art collages in my Etsy store again! I used to list them, then I decided to try listing the collages in another online venue (which didn’t bring any sales). So I am bringing the collages back to the Etsy store and adding more, never before listed ones too (soon!).
Today, I re-listed the Hope collage.

My collages begin with a found object, or two. Then I create a story about that object, and pull together other found objects in order to tell that story and create an aesthetically pleasing arrangement.
In the Hope collage, the story I am telling is of falling in love young, and building a life together, despite the uncertainties, symbolized by the dice.
I really like it, I hope you do too.

Saturday Surprise: Etsy Teams
Etsy Teams are a fantastic networking tool. I have friends and mentors, colleagues and associates that I have never met in person, but they are wonderfully supportive and helpful — all part of Etsy Teams. I belong to a lot of teams, but today I want to introduce you to three of them.
The Etsy DListers (aka the DTeam): I think of them as my main team. This was the first team I joined, and for a long time the only team I belonged to. A very friendly and helpful team, I am honored to be the team captain this year. The team exists to help new and small sellers, and I can attest to how much they have helped me!

Friday Feature: A Cold Winter’s Night
It has been very clear and cold here. The coldness adds to the chilliness of the snow. It looks very stark. This feeling is added to for me by the knowledge that going outside is skating with danger — one mistake and you’re frozen. Bonus! Friday Feature plus Book Review: Winter Gardens
I just finished reading a fantastic gardening book, The Year-Round Vegetable Gardener, by Niki Jabbour. I wish I had had this book years ago — it answers my most pressing garden questions and solves my problems. How can I extend my gardening season? (Answer: Read the book) Why do my root crops not make harvestable roots? (Answer: Too much nitrogen in the soil — I knew I had high nitrogen soil but not that it would make beets and sweet potatoes produce foliage & no tubers.) I am so excited for next year so I can get started on my year-round vegetable garden (it’s too late this year). And I also discovered that Ms. Jabbour has a blog companion to the book, The Year Round Veggie Gardener.
Besides tons of useful information, the book is chock-full of beautiful photographs, many of them of garden greens being harvested in the snow. The combination of green and white is stunning, and I was inspired to create an Etsy treasury of lovely green and white items from the Etsy DTeam.
