Tuesday Treasure: Silver Roses Striped Red Beaded Tassel Ornament

This sweet beaded tassel makes a different sort of tree ornament, or perhaps a gift embellishment. Perfect for Christmas, or even Valentine’s Day (that seems so far off, doesn’t it).

Tuesday Treasure: Angel Tassels

For as long as I have been making tassels, people have been coming up to me and telling me that they look like angels. I finally decided to make some tiny angel Christmas ornaments.

While I was making them, a friend asked me to make an angel for her mom, who had just been diagnosed with cancer, in the color for supporting that type of cancer. And my friend asked me for a 2nd one, so she and her mom could have matching angels while her mom fought the cancer (she is now in remission). So I decided to offer custom angels for cancer patients.

Tuesday Treasure: Christmas Ornament Preview

Every year, I make new Christmas ornaments to list in my Etsy store. I’m still listing my Halloween and autumn items, so the Christmas items are coming later this week or early next week, but I thought I’d share a few early pics of them:

Merry Christmas for me & my family

I had a lovely Christmas. I hope all of you who celebrate did, too. If you didn’t, I am holding you in my thoughts.

For me, the true meaning of Christmas comes at the end of the Christmas Eve church service, when the lights are dimmed, and each person lights their candle from the person next to them. The whole sanctuary gradually fills with a lovely, flickering light, as the congregation sings softly of a magical night long ago and far away. In that moment, we are all one, one worshipful body of people, momentarily letting our cares and worries slip away. Then the music fades away, the candles are extinguished, and we all go out into the cold to go home and wait for the excitement of Christmas morning.

Tuesday Treasure: Cranberry and Gold Man in the Moon Tassel

Shortly after I started Lizbeth’s Garden, I bought carved crescent moons with the man in the moon and stars to match. I thought I would make a moon and stars tassel. That never happened, and now I bring you this beautiful Christmas ornament.

There are six beaded fringes of red and amber brown seed beads. The final beads of the fringes alternate around the tassel — half are the man in the moon, and half are large amber glass beads with gold sparkles around the middle.

Besides hanging this beautiful beaded tassel on your Christmas tree, you could also use it as a stocking tassel, or a drawer pull or key fob, or even a clothing tassel — perhaps at the end of a shawl or scarf. The possibilities are endless.

If you have a dream for this tassel, I will be happy to answer any questions you may have or even modify the tassel to meet your needs.

You can find more beautiful beaded tassels like this one in my Etsy shop, Lizbeth’s Garden.

Decorating for Christmas: Hanging a Garland

I’ve been decorating for Christmas in bits and pieces, as I find the time. {The main thing holding me back is that all the Christmas items are in the very back of the crawl space.}

We kept our Happy Halloween garland up way too long (I won’t even tell you how long) and the space above the table seemed empty without it. A Christmas garland seemed like just the thing. I was going to go to Michaels and buy a premade garland, but then I found myself in the seasonal section at Target and saw the makings of my very own garland.

Red star tinsel (something like ten feet worth), giant candy cane ornaments (although I bought the small size, not the large) and metal snowflakes. Christmas garland, here we come!

Too many pushpins, and half an hour of getting up and down off the chair later, the garland was hung!

The extra tinsel became a lovely wreath for the hall, as seen in the photo at the beginning of the post.

{My apologies for the terrible lighting in the photos}
